Dijo Thomas solves the Mystery of Pohayan in Munnar, which is Acknoledged by Kerala Forest Department and is in their Official Records !!

BBC had Telecasted a Documentory on Pohayan in Munnar !

Finally that Mystery is Solved by Dijo Thomas !

Is Pohayan in Munnar Neelagiri Kaduva? Many had asked me. But I had replied in the negative. Pohayan is known only to be a little bigger than a dog.

In 2014, during my first discovery of Neelagiri Kaduva, when Sri Joseph IFS, then Director of Thiruvananthapuram Museum saw Cub of Neelagiri Kaduva [which was attacked by the mob & killed (http://rarewildlife.org/NeelagiriKaduva-Cub.htm)] he told me & Dr. Jacob Alexander that it could be Pohayan. But I told him that it was not Pohayan but Patti Kaduva (Colloquial Name of Neelagiri Kaduva ).

Dijo Thomas did a research on Neelagiri Cheruvan in Wayanad, Ootty, Munnar etc. and found it to be a Second Species [ and NOT a Sub-Species ] in Neelagiri Kaduva Family !

He Declaired this Species after a study of 5 Years in 2019.

Wild Elephants can read the mind of Human Beings !

Dijo Thomas, an avid Wildlife Enthusiast, Conservationalist & Scientist; has been following wild elephants for more than 15 years.

8 Years have Passed since the Discovery of Neelagiri Kaduva { Neelagiri Tiger } and 5 Years since
the Discovery of Raktha Athika [ Vampire Kangaroo ]. They were Discovered in 2014 and 2016
respectively.
Till this Moment, Not even a Single Person has Challenged or Disputed My Findings.
Still I, as a Person with True Scientific Temperament, I have always Welcomed an Open Debate
and Invited KFRI ( Kerala Forest Research Institute, Thrissur- The only Government organization
doing Research on Forests and Wildlife in Kerala), Forest Department and Anyone else, For an
open Debate before Media all these Years. You can see that in My Website and various Media
Reports, including Deccan Chronicle report in April 2016.
Only 2 persons have said that Neelagiri Kaduva does not exist- PO Nameer of Forestry College,
Thrissur and Jafer Palot, a "scientist" doing a "job" in the "government".
I had Challenged both and sent them Many Emails Inviting them for an In-Camera Open Debate
in the Press Club of Thrissur, before Media and others. I have Published those Emails in my
websites.

But till date, 5 Years later, PO Nameer of Forestry College, Thrissur and Jafer Palot have Not
Accepted my Challenge for Debate, which clearly shows that they knows that they couldn't
Engage in an Open Debate. I can Easily smash them to Pieces. By Extension, They are also
Indirectly Approving my Findings and Discoveries.

1. 100 % Pugmarks will have Claws in it. Implying that the Claws are Non- Retractable.

2. There will be only One Inward bend on the bottom of the Paw.

3. The Inward bend will be on the Middle of the Paw.

�� Tiger’s Pugmarks

1. The Claws in the Pugmarks of Tiger are Retractable. So it will Not be Visible.

Only when a Tiger Attacks or on a Slippery Surface will the Claws be Visible.

2. There will be Two Inward bends on the bottom of the Paw.

3. The Inward bend will be towards the Side of the Paw.

�� Dogs Pugmarks

NeelagiriKaduva’s Pugmarks are Somewhat Similar to that of a Dog’s Pugmarks.

There are two main Differences.

❓How a layman can Differentiate between NeelagiriKaduva’s and Dog’s Pugmarks, is by SIZE.

A fully grown NeelagiriKaduva’s Pugmark size will be from 8 to 12 cm.

Whereas a Dog’s Pugmark will be much smaller.

Note : The Male NeelagiriKaduva’s Pugmark size in Trivandrum was 9 cm;
Was Bigger than the Pug Mark I have given here, ( which is a Female Pug Mark ) .
